Privacy

Denver Trivia Zone (denvertrivia.zone) is a personal, non-commercial project run by Garrett Holmes in Denver, Colorado. This page explains what the site collects, which is very little, and why.

What is collected

Page views (analytics): The site uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count visits. It records the page viewed, the referring site, browser type, screen size, and the country and region derived from your IP address. It uses no cookies, does not fingerprint, does not follow you across other sites, and does not store your IP address. Some button clicks are counted too (for example, which night was picked or whether the map was opened) so the site can be improved. None of this identifies you.
Server logs: The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees your IP address and request details in order to deliver pages and block abuse. We do not export or analyze those logs.
Reports you send: If you use the "add or fix a listing" form, the text you type, the page you sent it from, the time, and your email address (optional) are stored so a person can review them. Your email is used only to ask a follow-up question about your report. To rate-limit abuse, a one-way hash of your IP address and the current hour is kept for one hour; the raw address is never stored. Reports are deleted once acted on, and in any case within a year.
Your location: "Near me" asks your browser for your location and uses it on your device to sort the list and center the map. It is never sent to this site or anyone else, and nothing is kept once you leave the page.
Saved spots and theme: Spots you star and your light/dark choice are stored in your own browser (local storage), not on a server. Clear your browser data to remove them.
The map: When you open the map, your browser fetches map tiles from OpenFreeMap, which therefore sees your IP address and the area you look at, as any map provider would. The map does not load until you ask for it.

What is not collected

No accounts, no sign-ups, no passwords, no advertising or ad networks, no social-media pixels, no cross-site tracking, no selling or sharing of personal information. Links to venues and host companies carry a plain referral tag (utm_source=denvertrivia.zone) so they can see that visitors came from here; it says nothing about you.

Services involved

Cloudflare hosts the site, stores form reports, and runs the bot check.
Umami Cloud provides cookieless analytics.
OpenFreeMap serves map tiles, using OpenStreetMap data.
Resend may be used to email a copy of a form report to the maintainer.

Your choices

You can use every part of this site without providing any personal information. To have a report you sent deleted, or to ask anything about this policy, use the form or reach out through garrettholmes.com. This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Terms of use

Accuracy: Listings are checked against host companies' published schedules and venue pages, and every listing shows the date it was last checked. Bars change, cancel and move trivia nights without notice. The information here is provided as is, with no guarantee that any game is running on any given night. Confirm with the venue before you make the trip.
Independence: Denver Trivia Zone is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by any trivia company, bar, brewery or venue listed here. Host and venue names are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify them.
Venues and hosts: Listings are drawn from publicly published schedules. If you run a venue or host company and want a listing corrected, added, or removed, say so and it will be done promptly and for free.
Reusing the data: The listings are published as open data under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license: reuse them, including in apps, research and AI systems, with credit to "Denver Trivia Zone" and a link to denvertrivia.zone. The site's text, design and logo are © 2026 Garrett Holmes.
Links: Links to venues, hosts and other sites lead to content we do not control and are not responsible for.
Liability: To the extent permitted by law, the site and its maintainer are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including a wasted trip to a bar with no trivia. Drink responsibly and get home safely.
Changes: This page may be updated; the effective date at the top will change when it is. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
